The third season of Young Royals may be the show’s most dramatic and emotionally driven to date. There is undoubtedly a lot going on, with discussions centred around important issues like the place of monarchies in contemporary society. Plot-wise, the conclusion of season two is quickly followed.
Edvin Ryding’s portrayal of Prince Wilhelm has to deal with the consequences of his speech, which affect almost everyone.
Wilhelm and Simon (Omar Rudberg) are simultaneously coping with the aftermath of the season one video leak and their now-public relationship. Even though the two leads occasionally share happy and lighthearted moments, there is still drama or tension.

Malte Gardinger reappears as August, who still causes Wilhelm trouble. In the meantime, he struggles with his romantic affections for other people, particularly Sara (Frida Argento).
In a heartfelt portrayal, Gardinger shows a young man who is restricted by the toxic culture he is exposed to at home and at school but who yearns to be better and pursue other opportunities, one of which is Sara. Argento spends the majority of the season alone, and it’s difficult to look away as she mulls over her options.
