THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ

HERE ARE THE LATEST UPDATES OF THE SERIES CALLED THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ

Given that it takes place in an Auschwitz concentration camp during the Holocaust, The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a compelling drama series. SERIES

The play is based on the true account of Slovakian Jew Lali Sokolov (Hauer-King), who is imprisoned in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland during World War Two and assigned the task of tattooing his fellow inmates’ identification numbers on their arms.

In the process, Lali meets Anna Próchniak’s character Gita, a young woman who helps her find hope even in the darkest of circumstances. Their lovely love story is told. While Jonas Nay plays SS camp guard Stefan Baretzki, Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets) will portray New Zealand author Heather Morris, to whom older Lali (Harvey Keitel) revealed his story following Gita’s passing.

Jonah Hauer-King remarks, “It is a great honour to be telling Lali’s amazing story—one that he was so brave to share.” “He can find kindness and humanity in the most inhumane places, and for that I have the utmost respect and admiration.”

These scripts portray this terrible period in our history in a devastating and vivid manner, and I’m honoured to be commemorating Lale and Gita’s incredible journey.

PLOT UPDATES OF THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ

The Tattooist of Auschwitz is based on the historical story of Lali Sokolov (Jonah Hauer-King), a Jewish man from Slovakia who was sent to the notorious Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland in 1942 as a prisoner during World War Two.

He is assigned to the position of Tätowierer there, where his responsibility is to tattoo the identifying numbers on the arms of his fellow inmates.

He encounters Gita one day while inking her prison number, and so begins a valiant tale of love in which they both have to take unbelievable chances in order to stay together, survive, and support their fellow inmates.

As Baretzki (Jonas Nay), a temperamental Nazi SS soldier, kept Lali and Gita under close watch, they grew resolute in their mission to survive.

After over sixty years, Lali (Harvey Keitel), now in his eighties, finds the bravery to tell novelist Heather Morris (Melanie Lynskey) about his story.

Morris then made the narrative into a best-selling book.  He is forced to confront the painful recollections of his early years and recreate the moments when he fell in love in the most horrifying settings.
