Durst faced accusations of the murders of three individuals: a neighbor named Morris Black, a friend named Susan Berman, and his first wife, Kathleen McCormack. After meeting with filmmakers Marc Smerling and Andrew Jarecki, who were following Durst’s narrative for a documentary, the public became enthralled with his story.
