In the comedy on Apple TV Plus called The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, host of The Great British Bake Off Noel Fielding trades in his wet panties for swagger to play the part of the fabled British highwayman from the eighteenth century.
Dick Turpin, played by Noel, is a conceited and reluctance-filled bandit leader, and Hugh Bonneville, star of Downton Abbey, plays his cunning rival, Jonathan Wilde, the self-appointed Thief Taker.
Turpin’s formidable image may not be totally justified if this series is any indication, since his charisma, theatrics, and gorgeous hair play a major role in his popularity. Along with Tamsin Greig, Asim Choudhry, Ellie White, Dolly Wells, and Mark Heap, the comedy offers an even more amazing cast.

As the reluctant leader of a group of outlaws, Dick Turpin embarks on a voyage filled with outrageous misadventures in The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin. His mission is to outwit dishonest lawman and self-appointed Thief-Taker Jonathan Wilde. In this satirical 18th-century tale, Dick is the most well-known—but also the least likely—of highway robbers, his success primarily attributed to his charisma, showmanship, and amazing hair.
While attempting to avoid the Thief-Taker’s grasp, Dick navigates the highs and lows of his new ventures—including a near-celebrity encounter—with his group of endearing outlaws.

Additional writers for the show were Jon Brittain, Richard Naylor, and Noel Fielding. The six-episode season will be co-helmed by directors Ben Palmer (The Inbetweeners) and George Kane (Crashing). Fielding, Palmer, Kenton Allen, and Victoria Grew are the executive producers of the series for Big Talk Studios.
