The popular Nickelodeon kids’ program Yo Gabba GabbaLand! is getting a makeover, and the streamer said on Wednesday that it will debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, August 9. Original characters Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Toodee, and Plex return in the new series, which also has a new host named Kammy Kam, portrayed by 12-year-old Kamryn Smith. Yo Gabba Gabba! had its Nickelodeon debut in 2007 and ran for four seasons. In between, the show’s brightly colored songs and comedies taught its young audience valuable life lessons, with lots of dancing.
The concert featured a wide range of musical guests from hip-hop, R&B, and indie rock, including Weezer, The Killers, My Chemical Romance, The Roots, Erykah Badu, The Shins, MGMT, and Mos Def. It also co-starred rap legend Biz Markie.
Along with Reggie Watts, Sam Richardson, Gillian Jacobs, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Chelsea Peretti, Lauren Lapkus, Diplo, and Flea, a number of guest performers will be making their Yo Gabba GabbaLand! debuts.
This series was likewise created by the same team who made the first one, Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz. In association with Yo Gabba Gabba LLC and Wildbrain, co-owners of the brand, Yo Gabba GabbaLand! is developed.
