The Beautiful Game, which is produced by Oscar-nominated actor and HWC ambassador Colin Farrell, Blueprint Pictures’ Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, and Ben Knight, together with Anita Overland, narrates the tale of the English squad and their coach (Nighy) as they get ready for the international competition.
Since its inception in 2001, the Homeless World Cup has had participation from around 70 nations. More than 1.2 million players representing 220 clubs worldwide have competed in the tournament over the previous 20 years.
The Beautiful Game features a large cast of real HWC participants whose lives have been touched by the organization’s work.

ABOUT THE BEAUTIFUL GAME
The manager of England’s homeless football squad, Mal (Nighy), is travelling to Rome with his team in the hopes of winning the Homeless World Cup, an international street football competition. He makes the last-minute decision to include a gifted striker named Vinny (Michael Ward), who might perhaps give them a chance to win—but only if he’s willing to put the past behind him and integrate into the group.
The Beautiful Game is a film about second chances, as homeless teams from all over the world discover that all roads lead to Rome and everything is up for grabs. It was made with the help of the Homeless World Cup and directed by Thea Sharrock from a scenario by Frank Bryce.
