Ahead of Selena Gomez’s next show, Selena + Restaurant, get ready to see her demonstrate her culinary abilities. The Calm Down singer will pick up where Selena + Chef and Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays left off on her new program.
On Friday, March 29, a press release from Selena Gomez and the Food Network revealed the upcoming program. In this series, famous chefs from the top restaurants in Los Angeles will put Selena’s cooking skills to the test and teach her new tricks
ALL ABOUT THE SELENA + RESTAURANT SEASON 1:
Selena + Chef will see the former Disney Channel star try to create a meal that is good enough to be on the menu in addition to her stepping outside of her own kitchen.
Selena stated in a statement, obtained by Variety, “I was thrilled to step into their world after cooking with some of the best chefs for the last four years, mostly virtually from my kitchen.” You’ll have to see if my abilities were improved in any way by being in person.
Remember that Selena + Chef debuted in August 2020? Fans have been watching Selena as she converses with well-known chefs in hopes of learning how to make one of their most well-known dishes.
In addition to the singer of “Lose You to Love Me,” viewers are treated to the surprise of Selena’s family and friends stopping by the kitchen to sample her cooking. Selena + Chef had three more seasons renewed after the first season’s popularity, with the final one premiering in August 2022.
Variety was informed by Food Network CEO Betsy Ayala that Selena’s culinary career has captivated viewers since the beginning because of how she has improved her cooking abilities on her Emmy-nominated series, Selena + Chef.
“Now that Selena is in the big leagues, her culinary education can continue naturally as she demonstrates her abilities in a restaurant setting, all thanks to the support of her best friend and the comfort of her home kitchen.”
CAST FOR SELENA + RESTAURANT SEASON 1:
Stephanie Izard (Girl & the Goat), Marcel Vigneron (Lemon Grove), Shirley Chung (Ms. Chi), Andrew and Michelle Munoz (Moo’s Craft Barbecue), Wolfgang Puck (Cut Steakhouse), and Keith Corbin (Alta) are among the six chefs and restaurants where the singer will hone her culinary skills.
There will be a different restaurant and chef featured in each episode. How does Selena hope to achieve her goals? to prepare a dish deserving of their restaurant! With donations made to assist the chefs’ causes, the presentation will not only promote culinary skills but also charities that are significant to the chefs.
