PLOT OF THE EXPATS SEASON 1:
Expats examines what happens when the distinction between victimhood and culpability is hazy and focuses on privilege. It centers on three ladies who come to Hong Kong and start again. There are three main characters in the film: Margaret (Nicole Kidman), a stunning mother of three whose ideal life is shattered by tragedy; Hilary (Sarayu Blue), an affluent housewife in dire need of a child; and Mercy (Ji-young Yoo), a recent graduate from Korea American college who is attempting to start over.
They will be forced to reconsider every facet of their own affluent lifestyles as a result of the collisions in the hothouse atmosphere of their new homeland.
