A Man in Full, a limited series on Netflix, may be David E. Kelley’s next great TV drama. Kelley has been responsible for some of the best in recent years. In a tale about a real estate mogul’s fall from grace, the creator of Big Little Lies, Anatomy of a Scandal, and Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer delves into the realms of politics and commerce.
Kelley is not the only one contributing his skills to the show. The show is based on a Tom Wolfe novel, with Regina King serving as executive producer. Jeff Daniels leads an incredible ensemble of actors.
PLOT OF THE A MAN IN FULL SEASON 1:
A Man in Full is an adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s 1998 best-selling book of the same name, as was previously mentioned. This is A Man in Full’s book description on Amazon: Atlanta, Georgia, a racially diverse boomtown in the late 20th century with plenty of new wealth and cunning politicians, serves as the scene.
The main character is Charles Croker, a late middle-aged conglomerate king from Atlanta whose enormous ego has finally collided with reality. Croker was a college football standout. Charlie has a young, demanding second wife, a nearly vacant office complex with an enormous debt load, and a 29,000-acre plantation where he hunts quail.
In the meantime, the idealistic young father of two, Conrad Hensley, finds himself plunging into the depths of the American judicial system after losing his job at the Croker Global Foods warehouse outside Oakland.
Back in Atlanta, renowned black attorney Roger White II is asked to defend Georgia Tech running back Fareek “the Canon” Fanon after he is accused of date-raping the daughter of a prominent member of the white establishment. The idea is to keep the delicate racial balance in the city from getting out of control. Fanon is from the impoverished areas of the city.
CAST OF THE A MAN IN FULL SEASON 1:
Diane Lane plays Martha, Jeff Daniels plays Charlie Croker, and Sarah Jones (For All Mankind, Alcatraz) plays Serena, the trophy wife of the present. Conrad Hensley, an employee of Croker International who is attempting to provide a better life for his family, is portrayed by Jon Michael Hill (Widows, Elementary) in the remaining cast.
As brash lawyer Roger White, Aml Ameen (Yardie, The Maze Runner) seeks to further cement his status as a legal shark. Playing Atlanta’s incumbent mayor in a bitter reelection fight for his political life is William Jackson Harper (Midsommer, The Good Place). Lucy Liu plays Joyce Newman, a cosmetics tycoon who encounters great obstacles among the turmoil in the city.
Despite Charlie Croker being an entirely unpleasant character, Jeff Daniels is a talented actor who can evoke empathy in the audience. A Man in Full is going to be a fantastic display of all the talent involved.
