The first trailer for X-Men ’97 appeared out of nowhere and thrust the legendary team back into the spotlight, as if the Deadpool & Wolverine teaser wasn’t enough proof that Marvel is beginning to rely significantly on its cast of mutant characters.
The ambitious new series aims to transport viewers back to the height of X-Men frenzy in the 1990s, owing to the Saturday morning cartoon that inspired a whole new wave of aficionados.

The visual aesthetic and voice cast of X-Men ’97 aim to transport viewers back to the heyday of the Marvel mutants, as it is a direct sequel to the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series. The first season will, however, abruptly change course when it is revealed in the teaser that Magneto is now in control of Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Children.

CAST FOR X-MEN ’97 SEASON 1:
The voice cast of X-Men: The Animated series will return in large numbers for X-Men ’97. Among them are Chris Britton as Mr. Sinister, George Buza as Beast, Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, and Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm. Starring as Cyclops, Ray Chase, Jennifer Hale, AJ LoCascio, Holly Chou, JP Karliak, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Matthew Waterson, Professor X, and Ross Marquand are newcomers to the large ensemble cast.
Theo James, star of White Lotus, has also joined the cast in an unidentified capacity. According to DeMayo, “It is a fan-favorite character, and it will surprise people,” as she told Entertainment Weekly.
