Velma, the adult animated series, will soon make a return to Max for a second season. Max has unveiled a first look image and a logline for the upcoming season, giving away narrative points for Season 2 ahead of its comeback.
Ten episodes totaling the second season will debut on Thursday, April 25, just on Max. In the midst of uncertainties regarding the show’s future on Max, the launch date was just recently disclosed.
In the recently revealed logline for Season 2, Mindy Kaling’s character Velma and her friends are tasked with solving an even creepier mystery.
PLOT OF THE VELMA SEASON 2:
Based on Velma Dinkley from the Scooby-Doo series, Velma is an animated mystery television series in the United States aimed at adults. Since it centers on Velma Dinkley and the other human members of Mystery Inc. prior to their formal organization, it is the only TV show in the franchise to not include Scooby-Doo.
The show presents itself as a love triangle between them and tells Mystery Inc.’s origin tale in an alternate dimension. The main emphasis of the story is Velma Dinkley’s investigation into her mother’s disappearance and the killings of adolescent girls in the area.
As per the official logline, the upcoming season will center around an even more intriguing mystery that will grab Crystal Cove. Before anything more drastic happens, Velma (Mindy Kaling) needs to figure out how to manage her detective work with her newfound fame.
As all of her pals, Daphne (Constance Wu), Norville (Sam Richardson), and Fred (Glenn Howerton), struggle with their own issues and, worse still, are detained, they are unable to assist her.
