The Drew Barrymore Show has been renewed for a fifth season on the CBS Stations early and without drama, following a belated start to its fourth season and behind-the-scenes conflict.

This is the first time the syndicated daytime chat programme has been picked up since a significant restructuring at CBS Media Ventures, the show’s distributor and producer, where Wendy McMahon, who is currently President and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures, took over.

The CBS Stations have decided to renew “The Drew Barrymore Show” for a fifth season. This follows behind-the-scenes turmoil and a fourth season premiere that was delayed.

The renewal also follows a difficult fall for The Drew Barrymore Show, whose host initially declared a comeback on September 18 while the writers were still on strike before changing course in response to WGA members’ protests and picketing of the programme.

CAST UPDATES OF THE DREW BARRYMORE SHOW SEASON 5

The cast of the new Mean Girls movie, including Renee Rapp, Angourie Rice, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Christopher Briney, Auli’I Cravalho, and Jaquel Spivey, will appear in a special episode of The Drew Barrymore Show tomorrow, January 12.

The ensemble of FX’s upcoming Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, including Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, and Calista Flockhart, will appear on the show in an exclusive daytime TV segment. 

Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Annette Bening, Dan Levy, Isla Fisher, Lucy Hale, Clive Owen, Andie MacDowell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jamie Oliver, and Chrissy Teigen are among the other actors scheduled to make appearances in the upcoming weeks.
