The popular series “Delhi Crime,” directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta, is making a comeback to the streaming world with the new crime drama “Poacher,” which will debut on Prime Video on February 23.
“Get Out” directed by Jordan Peele and “BlacK kKlansman” financed by Spike Lee are only two examples of the Oscar-winning production and funding company QC Entertainment, which is also behind the show.
With Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in key parts, the series features a varied and brilliant cast, all of whom are directed, written, and created by Mehta. During its 2023 Sundance Film Festival premiere, the first three episodes of the eight-episode series were well-received by critics.
PLOT OF THE POACHER SEASON 1:
Poacher is the son of Delhi Crime’s originator, writer, director, and creator Richie Mehta. In key parts, Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya are among the diverse and brilliant cast members introduced in the series.
It’s the first TV show created by QC Entertainment, the team behind critically acclaimed films including BlacKkKlansman directed by Spike Lee and Get Out directed by Jordan Peele.
The series is a fictitious depiction of events that occurred in the concrete jungle of Delhi and the deep jungles of Kerala, according to court documents and testimonies. It highlights the tremendous efforts put forward by Indian forest service personnel, constables, wildlife trust of India NGOs, and good samaritans who risked their lives to look into the biggest ivory poaching ring in Indian history.
Poacher, which mostly takes place in Malayalam, Hindi, and English, was filmed in actual Kerala and New Delhi locations to preserve the authenticity of the plot.

The cast of Poacher features a number of gifted actors, including Roshan Mathew (Busan winner for “Paradise”), Dibyendu Bhattacharya (Emmy-nominated series “Rocket Boys”), and Nimisha Sajayan (Tallinn title “Adrishya Jalakangal”).
Raymond Mansfield, Sean McKittrick, and Edward H. Hamm Jr. of QC Entertainment are executive producers of Poacher. Producer for Suitable Pictures is Alan McAlex (Suitable Boy). Editor Beverley Mills, composer Andrew Lockington, and director of photography Johan Aidt are also from Delhi Crime.
WHEN CAN I WATCH POACHER?
During the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, the first three episodes of the eight-episode series were shown, and the audience responded quite well. Starting on February 23, 2024, viewers can watch the program on Prime Video.
