Drag Race México is set to launch later this year, according to a statement released today by the Emmy-winning media company World of Wonder. Lolita Banana, a former contestant on Drag Race France, and Taiga Brava, the winner of Queen of the Universe Season 2, will serve as co-hosts for the upcoming season. Also making a comeback is Oscar Madrazo as a judge. The first eight episodes of the series will premiere this summer exclusively on WOW Presents Plus.
Reigning as co-host of Drag Race México Season 1 and replacing RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 favorite Valentina, Quintana Roo native Taiga Brava is recognized for her distinctive and glitzy personal style. WHAT ABOUT THE DRAG RACE MEXICO SEASON 2?
In an attempt to become the next big thing in drag and take home the ultimate prize in cash, drag queens from all across Mexico will compete in acting, fashion, comedy, and other challenges during Season 2 of Drag Race México. In the upcoming weeks, the queens that will be competing as well as the fascinating roster of special celebrity guest judges for the upcoming season will be announced. Drag Race México Season 2 will only shown on WOW Presents Plus worldwide.
Lolita Banana is the first Mexican-born Queen to have competed in the Drag Race series. She was born in Mexico City and currently resides in Paris. Her career began off as a result of Brunch and Queen at the Acqua e Farina restaurant in Paris. In 2022, she won international recognition for her participation in the inaugural season of Drag Race France. Following a year-long tour with the Drag Race France cast, Lolita received an invitation to co-host the inaugural season of Drag Race México alongside 11 fresh, exceptionally gifted queens. Now that Season 2 has begun, Lolita is back to rule and select the next big thing in Mexican drag.
Originating from Cancún, Mexico, Taiga Brava began her career as a competitor on reality shows such as Mexico’s Got Talent and Latin American Idol. Taiga chose to become Miss Taiga Brava, the Caribbean Pop Diva, at the age of 28 in order to showcase how much she had learnt to love herself via drag. Taiga was chosen to compete in Queen of the Universe in 2023, making history as the first Mexican Rugirl to win the title. She’s the second Queen of the Universe winner to host Drag Race on a global scale.
Oscar Madrazo launched several well-known careers in the fashion sector at the age of nine, when he began his modeling career. At the age of 19, he formed Contempo Models. Oscar has collaborated with global superstars including Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks.
He is well-known for his roles as a television host, reality TV personality, influencer, and fashion entrepreneur. He also serves as the entertainment news host for Imagen Televisión and served as a Mexico’s Next Top Model recurrent judge for five seasons. Executive producing the World of Wonder series are Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, and RuPaul Charles. This summer, 190 regions will see the world premiere of Drag Race México’s second season, which will air exclusively on WOW Presents Plus.
