Xiaomi 12 Ultra With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC Could Launch in July As CEO Teases New Flagship

According to rumours, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra has a 6.7-inch quad-HD+ AMOLED LTPO display. Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, revealed on Wednesday that the Chinese tech firm is preparing to introduce a smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC in July.

This device has been under development by Xiaomi and Qualcomm together for a while.

The forthcoming flagship is not identified by name in the teaser, but it is assumed to be the long-rumoured Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

This smartphone has been the subject of numerous rumours and leaks, and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is also predicted to be included.

On Weibo, Jun said that a [Xiaomi] flagship would be arriving in July. Qualcomm is working with developers to create it.

This smartphone is thought to be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which is rumoured to ship in July with a suggested retail price of about $1,350. (roughly Rs. 1,05,000).

Additionally, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is anticipated to be included, along with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.

A 6.7-inch quad-HD+ AMOLED LTPO display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz is rumoured to be featured on this smartphone.

A 50-megapixel camera will probably be the focal point of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra’s triple rear camera arrangement.

It is rumoured to have a front camera with a resolution of 20 megapixels for selfies and video calls.

A 4,800mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities is anticipated for the smartphone.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, codenamed SM8475, is described as “a huge leap in performance and energy consumption” by Jun in the post.

The race to market first-generation smartphones with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoCs is on.

The OnePlus 10T, which is rumoured to be in development and to include this chipset, could go on sale in Q3 2022.

Another device with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, the Vivo X80 Pro+ 5G, is anticipated to launch in October.
