Amber Heard says Warner Bros ‘took a bunch out of my role’ from ‘Aquaman 2’

Amber Heard says she was given a script and then given fresh copies of the script that had been stripped of parts of the script that had action in them, scenes that depicted my character, and another character fighting and they basically pulled a bunch out of my role.”

Following her divorce from Johnny Depp, Amber Heard claimed that Warner Bros. “cut a load out” of her character in the upcoming Aquaman sequel. On Tuesday, Amber Heard, 36, made the remarks during a libel complaint filed against her by Depp, 58, in Virginia’s Fairfax County Circuit Court.

She told Variety that Warner Bros., the studio behind the Aquaman franchise, “didn’t want to include me” in the movie. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, starring Jason Momoa, will be released on March 17, 2023.

Heard plays Mera in Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s comic book movie. She debuted as the character in Justice League in 2017, which she described as “a three-picture choice.” Until Depp’s crew declared her a liar about her abuse claims against Depp, the actor said she was “actively scheduling timing for filming” the movie.

“Communications” about the sequel “stopped at that time,” Amber Heard stated. She said she was given $1 million for a larger co-lead part in Aquaman with Momoa. Amber Heard stated that she was paid twice as much for Aquaman 2, her third film, but that her character was “a very pared-down version.”

I was given a script and then changed versions of the script that deleted action moments, sections that depicted my character and another character fighting (without giving anything away), and generally trimmed a lot of my role out.

Heard explained, “They simply pulled out a bunch.” “No, Ms. Vasquez, I earned the position by auditioning,” Amber Heard said, denying claims made by Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, that she only secured the role in Aquaman because of Depp’s help.

Depp’s lawyers questioned Heard’s accusation that Depp s*xually assaulted her with a liquor bottle the day before yesterday. Depp is suing Heard over a December 2018 editorial in The Washington Post in which she defined herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.” Despite the fact that his name was never included in the piece, his lawyers allege it defamed him. The trial is now in its sixth week.

Depp told The Sunday Times last year that he was being blacklisted by the film industry as a result of domestic abuse allegations made by his ex-wife and costar in “The Rum Diary,” and that his latest film Minamata was yet to be released in the US. Minamata was eventually released in the United States by Samuel Goldwyn Films in February 2022, with Depp serving as a producer.
