Angelina Jolie to establish next women for bees program in Cambodia in 2022:
ANGELINA JOLIE: Angelina Jolie, the “godmother” of the Women for Bees program me, which seeks to train 50 women in beekeeping over the next five years, as well as install 2,500 hives in 25Unesco biosphere reserves and resupply125 million bees, was announced earlier this year. France, Italy, Russia, Slovenia, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and China are among the countries with UNESCO biosphere reserves.
According to femalefirst.co.uk, Jolie, who has also worked as a Special Envoy for the UN Refugee Agency, has revealed her plans to visit to Cambodia in 2022 to build the next phase of the program me in the Sellout region, where she owns a residence.
“Says the actress: “We wanted to make sure there were at least 50 women representing25 biospheres, so we could learn about the biospheres and why mapping out and assembling the team was so crucial.
The ‘Salt’ actress also expressed her displeasure with the fact that a woman’s right to education is still being debated in many parts of the world. She was quoted in People magazine as stating : “Isn’t it incredibly infuriating? That we must continue to communicate this – it is their right.
“Education will enable everyone to become more capable, enabling them to interact with and contribute to their families, communities, and society.” Jolie was named the “godmother” of the Women for Bees initiative in March of this year.
“When women develop skills and knowledge, their impulse is to assist raise others,” Jolie said in a statement at the time, after meeting with the beekeepers in training and tracking their progress. I’m looking forward to meeting the women from all over the world who are participating in this program.
