ULTRAMAN: RISING

HERE ARE THE LATEST UPDATES OF THE SERIES CALLED ULTRAMAN: RISING

Ultraman has been fighting Kaiju for almost 50 years, yet you have never seen him like this SERIES. The Japanese hero is headed to Netflix in a new animated film called Ultraman: Rising, and you won’t believe who he’s bringing with him.

After decades of Ultraman appearances, beginning with the original 1966 television series created by Eiji Tsuburaya and Tetsuo Kinjo, the film introduces an entirely new Ultraman: baseball sensation Ken Sato.

The latest Ultraman: Rising trailer, which you can watch above, shows one of the problems Sato faces: a baby kaiju that imprints on Ultraman and twists his world upside down.

The idea got much more appealing after Tindle became a father himself. “There were things that I think in the earlier versions were a little more generic, and then when my daughter was born, I was like ‘Uh oh,'” Tindle says.

“This pure misery I’m going through right now and not sleeping ever — I might want to incorporate that into the movie and weaponize all those things I’m experiencing right now.”

ABOUT ULTRAMAN: RISING’S

Then Tokyo is threatened by growing monster attacks, an all-star athlete unwillingly returns home to take on the mantle of Ultraman, only to find that his greatest difficulty isn’t fighting huge monsters, but raising them. Tindle relied on an unexpected source for the parental connection in Ultraman: Rising.

“One of the big inspirations from the very beginning of this story was Kramer vs. Kramer, because it’s one of my favourite films,” adds Tindle. “A child can serve as a catalyst for personal growth and change…” That is the type of story I am interested in telling.”
