Thomas William Hiddleston is an English actor who was born on February 9, 1981. He has received numerous awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe Award and a Laurence Olivier Award, as well as two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award nomination.

Thomas William Hiddleston: Early Life 

Thomas William Hiddleston was born in the Westminster district of London on February 9, 1981, to Diana Patricia (née Serves) Hiddleston, an arts administrator and former stage manager, and Dr. James Norman Hiddleston, a physical chemist and former managing director of a biotechnology company that collaborated with Oxford University.

His mother is from Suffolk, while his father is from Greenock, Scotland. Emma, his younger sister, is also an actress, and Sarah, his older sister, is an Indian journalist. He is a great-grandson of Vice Admiral Reginald Servaes and a great-great-grandson of food entrepreneur Sir Edmund Vestey, both through his mother. Alexander, his paternal grandfather, was a plater in the shipyards and served in the Royal Artillery. Hiddleston was born and reared in Wimbledon, before moving to a town near Oxford.

At the age of seven, he started boarding at Windlesham House School before transferring to the Dragon School in Oxford a year later. When he was twelve, his parents split. “I like to think that made me more sympathetic in my grasp of human frailty,” he remarked of his parent’s divorce.

Hiddleston enrolled in Eton College as a boarder when he was 13 years old. He continued his studies at the University of Cambridge’s Pembroke College, where he received a double first in Classics. During his second year at Cambridge, talent agent Lorraine Hamilton of Hamilton Hodell saw him in a production of A Streetcar Named Desire. He then went onto the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to study acting.

In the drama Unrelated, Hiddleston made his film debut (2007). In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was cast as Loki in Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Thor: Ragnarok(2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). (2019). In2011, he was nominated for the BAFTA is que Award for Best Male Newcomer and won the Empire Award for Best Male Newcomer.

In 2015, he appeared in Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak, Ben Wheatley’s High Rise, and the biographies of Hank Williams, the troubled country music musician.

He received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie and Outstanding Limited Series for his role in the AMC/BBC limited series The Night Manager (2016), for which he won his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor –Miniseries or Television Film. In the Disney+ series Loki, he reprised his role as Loki (2021).
