The Witcher: Blood Origin is a forthcoming fantasy miniseries based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher book series. It will be a precursor to the Netflix original series.
What Could be the plot of The Witcher: Blood Origin?
The Witcher: Blood Origins is set 1200 years before Geralt, Yennefer, and Cirilla were born. Each of the several sentient races has its own realm at this time, each existing in its own universe from the others. During the Conjunction of the Spheres, the peace and separation of the races came to an end.
When the Conjunction of the Spheres occurred, all of the worlds crashed into one, bringing magic, monsters, and the elf species to the human world. The witchers were developed to safeguard people from the monsters that now wander the planet.
There is still no word on the series’ real plotlines, although The Witcher fans have been treated to numerous Easter eggs in previous seasons. The Witcher: Blood Origin is expected to cover two plotlines: the first is the genesis of the first Witcher, and the second is a possible explanation for Ciri’s Elven lineage.
Although Geralt and his mentor, Vesamir, are the most well-known Witchers, they are far from the first. Blood Origin could be the ideal occasion for us to learn about the Witchers’ origins and history.
The Cast of Prequel?
The cast of The Witcher: Blood Origin is impressive. There are 14 confirmed members as of this writing. Sophia Brown (from Star Trek: Discovery, Shang Chi, and Crazy Rich Asians) portrays Éile, Michelle Yeoh (from Star Trek: Discovery, Shang Chi, and Crazy Rich Asians) plays Scan, and Laurence O’Fuarain (formerly from Vikings and Game of Thrones) plays Fjall.
Along with Mirren Mack as Merwyn, Nathaniel Curtis as Bran, and Dylan Moran as Uthrok OneNut, Lenny Henry will join the ensemble as Chief Druid Balor. Jacob Collins Levy will play Eredin, Lizzie Annis will play Zacaré, and Huw Novelli will play Callan, or “Brother Death.”
Amy Murray will portray Meldof, Zach Wyatt will play Syndril, and Aidan O’Callaghan will play Kareg. There are also rumors that we will see characters from the first two seasons. Jacob Batey may appear in the series as the most famous bard, Jaskier, in a highly awaited cameo.
