The Morning Show (also known as Morning Wars in Australia and Indonesia)is an American drama streaming television series that aired on Apple TV+ on November 1, 2019, and stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell. Brian Stelter’s book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV served as inspiration for the series.
The Plot Of The Morning Show Season 2
Season 2 isn’t revealed much in the official teaser, but it’s evident that Alex(Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) are no longer morning television’s dream couple. The aftermath of their breakup is depicted in the teaser, including a hint that Alex has been replaced by a new leading man (Hasan Minhaj).
The Morning Show’s initial season 2 release date coincided with the 2020 election, therefore it was reasonable to expect that the show’s storyline would be inspired by the current political situation. Kerry Ehrin, the show’s creator, tells Variety that she “doesn’t write to the news.”
In fact, she has no desire to write about the current events in the White House. “If you’re dealing with politics, you’re dealing with political subjects, in my opinion. I call it ‘current adjacent,’ where you don’t have to deal with a specific subject to age oneself historically, but you can take the zeitgeist of what’s going on in the world and do something with those themes.
“However, Ehrin and her writing team will continue to investigate the current coronavirus outbreak. Although the trailer doesn’t specifically mention COVID-19, the camera sweeps over a light display spelling out “2020,” leading us to believe that the program takes place in the same year as the pandemic. Aniston, who was nominated for an Emmy for her performance on the program, told Deadline how the show’s focus shifted dramatically once the pandemic began.
The Cast Of The Morning Show Season 2
The Morning Show’s complete ensemble is scheduled to return for a second season as of right now. Aniston, Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, and Mark Duplass are among the cast members. Despite the fact that Mitch’s closing scene in Season 1 implied that he would be leaving the show, Deadline revealed that Carell had signed on to return as a series regular in Season 2 just weeks before the season premiere.
According to Variety, Julianna Marguiles, who has appeared on ER and The Goodwife, will play Laura Peterson, an ancho rat UBA News.
According to Deadline, Hasan Minhaj will play Eric, “a charming, rising star who joins The Morning Show.”
According to Deadline, Greta Lee will play “Stella Bak, an ambitious leader of an online media organization that caters to a millennial and Gen Z audience.”
According to Deadline, Ruairi O’Connor will play “Ty Fitzgerald, a charismatic and clever YouTube celebrity.”
