Tag Heuer Adds Support for NFT Watchfaces for ‘Connected Calibre E4’ Smartwatch

The Metamask NFTs that will appear on the faces of Tag Heuer’s ‘Connected Calibre E4’ watch will be arranged in a hexagonal pattern.

The Tag Heuer watch company is taking a major step forward in its Web3 research. Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will now be accepted as a watch face by the Swiss luxury watch brand. Tag Heuer’s ‘Connected Calibre E4’ smartwatch will have the capability enabled.

To wire these NFT watch faces, Metamask, an NFT-storing wallet service provider, has been collaborated. Tag Heuer recently announced the acceptance of 12 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ether, among others.

NFT Watchfaces

These watches will have NFTs from popular series such as the Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunk, Clone-X, and World of Women.

These NFT screensavers also have a cloud of animated particles floating around them. On Twitter, the watchmaker revealed a sneak peek at the NFT wallpapers.

The Ledger Calibre E4 smartwatch will be able to fetch and display NFTs from Ledger crypto wallets. Owners of this wristwatch will need to update the firmware on their watches through Google Play and Apple App Store.

On these watches, NFTs from popular series such as the Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunk, Clone-X, and World of Women will be displayed.

These NFT screensavers also have a shadow of moving particles roaming around them. On Twitter, the watchmaker also gave a sneak glance at the NFT wallpapers.

To save and show NFTs, Ledger’s crypto wallets will be integrated with the Calibre E4 watches. This smartwatch’s software will need to be updated through Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

TAG Heuer CEO Frederic Arnault was cited as saying, “I have had a profound interest in the NFT domain, and this function fits with TAG Heuer’s reputation of being avant-garde and progressive in technology.”

Digital collectables based on blockchain networks are known as NFTs. NFTs are built on a variety of blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon.

Tag Heuer partnered with BitPay, a crypto payment service provider, in May to enable crypto payments for Tag Heuer watches costing up to $10,000. (roughly Rs. 7,80,657).
