Solana Labs Updates: Blockchain is being introduced to the smartphone market by Solana Labs. On June 23, Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko introduced the “Solana Mobile Stack” (SMS), a software development platform for Web3 programmes. He provided information about the company’s impending “Saga” smartphone during this New York event.
When it debuts in the first quarter of 2023, this will be among the first smartphones in the world to focus on cryptography and Web 3. The name “Saga” was chosen, according to Raj Gokal, a co-founder of Solana, since “the story of cryptocurrency is still being told.”
The Saga smartphone, which runs Google’s Android operating system, will cost about $1,000 (approximately Rs. 78,300) and have a 6.67-inch OLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of internal storage.
A PRO-WEB3, DECENTRALISED APP STORE WITH DAPPS WILL BE PRE-INSTALLED ON THE PHONE.
To handle transactions made via QR codes, Saga will come pre-installed with a cryptocurrency wallet dubbed “Solana Pay.” This phone will also include a “seed vault” for the secure storage of all the associated private keys.
“Around the world, about 7 billion people use smartphones, and more than 100 million people own digital assets; both of these figures will rise. In a blog post, Yakovenko stated that Saga “sets a new benchmark for the web3 experience on mobile.”
Between 2017 and 2018, Yakovenko, a former employee of Qualcomm, organised Solana Labs. The ‘Saga’ smartphone from Solana Labs is now available for pre-order, allowing more smartphone users to experiment with Web3 integration. For a $100 refundable deposit, prospective customers can reserve their devices (roughly Rs. 7,830).
The message informed that pre-orderers might be entitled to a Saga Pass, an NFT that came with the first batch of Saga devices, and the first ticket to influencing the SMS platform’s development. The Solana Labs team hopes to promote widespread acceptance of cryptocurrencies by fusing Web3 with smartphone technologies.
Other smartphone manufacturers have tried combining cellphones and cryptocurrency in the past. The ‘Saga’ smartphone from Solana Labs is now available for pre-order, allowing more smartphone gamers to explore with Web3 integration. Customers who are interested can book their devices for a $100 refundable deposit (roughly Rs. 7,830).
