(In 1980, he and Foster teamed together again in the teen drama “Foxes.”) His second job occurred when he was sixteen years old, when he was cast as a regular on the nostalgic comedy “Happy Days” in 1977, portraying Fonzie’s rough younger cousin Chachi, and he quickly became a teen girl favourite. Baio had two Emmy Award nominations for his roles in the made-for-TV movies “Stoned” in 1981and “All the Kids Do It” in 1985 while working on “Happy Days.” He also received two Young Artist Awards during this period, for Best Young Actor for “Stoned” and Best Young Comedian for “Happy Days.” Baio also co-starred with Mickey Rooney in the after-school programmes “The Boy Who Drank Too Much” and “Senior Trip.”

In 1982, he got another chance to play Chachi in the short-lived spin-off series “Joanie Loves Chachi,” but his career will never be as bright as it was when he was a teenager. He made an appearance in the ABC series “Eight is Enough” in 1982. Baio recorded an album for RCA, with “How Do You Talk to Girls” as one of the songs. He also played the principal part of Francis Geminiani during this time.

When Baio began starring in the comedy series “Charles in Charge,” he became even more well-known. He played the part from 1984 to 1990, when the show ended. Baio worked as a director on the children’s comedy TV series “Out of This World” from 1987 until 1991.
