Salem’s Lot: Release Date, Cast, And More

In the latest entertainment news today you are going to get all the details about the film Salem’s Lot. This is the knock on the window from the pale, floating lad with fangs and dark circles under his eyes if you’re a fan of Stephen King’s 1975 vampire novel or any of its adaptations.

You should continue reading to learn what we know about the new movie “Salem’s Lot” since he wants to be allowed in.

Salem’s Lot: What Is It?

The first film version of Stephen King’s book, “Salem’s Lot,” recasts “Dracula” as taking place in 20th-century America. The vampire travels to New England rather than England.

Kurt Barlow, a human familiar by the name of Richard Straker, is with him (whose name is a nod to Bram Stoker, the author of “Dracula”).

Barlow invades the sleepy community of Jerusalem’s Lot, sometimes known as Salem’s Lot, which serves as the backdrop for the Adrien Brody-starring Epix series “Chapelwaithe.”

In the past, “Salem’s Lot” was turned into two TV miniseries. The first one premiered on CBS in 1979, while the second one debuted on TNT in 2004. Both films starred David Soul and Rob Lowe, although Tobe Hooper’s 1970 production is considered to be of higher quality.

“Salem’s Lot” is being directed by “Annabelle Comes Home” filmmaker Gary Dauberman. This isn’t Dauberman’s first King experience; he also co-wrote the script for “It” and was the only person acknowledged as writing “It Chapter Two,” so he has experience working with the author here as well.

“Salem’s Lot” is being made by James Wan under his Atomic Monster banner. As a branch of Warner Bros., New Line Cinema is co-producing and handling distribution.

The Cast

We’ve been tracking the arrival of names like Lewis Pullman, who portrayed the bellboy in “Bad Times at the El Royale,” and who will be taking over the starring part of Ben Mears, the character played by Soul and Lowe before him since the casting news for “Salem’s Lot” first broke.

There are also Alfre Woodard and Bill Camp, the latter of whom previously acted alongside King in HBO’s “The Outsider” in 2019.

Even more of a Stephen King veteran is William Sadler, who starred in each of the three films directed by Frank Darabont: The Shawshank Redemption,” “The Green Mile,” and “The Mist.”

Along with these actors, there is Spencer Treat Clark, who portrayed Bruce Willis’ character in “Unbreakable” and “Glass,” and Makenzie Leigh, who appeared in “The Assistant.”

When and Where to Watch?

The first release date for “Salem’s Lot” was slated for September 9, 2022. The movie’s release date has since changed to April 21, 2023.

The movie will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, which in 2022 will switch to a 45-day theatrical window after simultaneously releasing its films on HBO Max throughout 2021.

You should be able to watch “Salem’s Lot” in theatres first, or on HBO Max after a month and a half, with VOD alternatives coming soon unless something changes (which is certainly plausible given the pandemic situation).
