Pat Carroll, who played Ursula in “The Little Mermaid” and was a longtime staple of comic television who won an Emmy for “Caesar’s Hour,” has passed away. 95 years old.

She leaves her sister Kerry and me with the greatest gift of all, endowing us with humour and the ability to laugh. even in the saddest of times, wrote her other daughter Tara Karsian on Instagram.

They want everyone to “honour her by having a raucous laugh at absolutely anything today (and everyday forward) because besides her brilliant talent and love, she leaves my sister Kerry and I with the greatest gift of all.”

SHE PLAYED “HOMETOWN GIRL” IN 1948, HER FIRST FILM ROLE, BUT SHE REALLY HIT HER STRIDE IN TELEVISION.

Additionally, in the 1965 television adaptation of “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” she as one of the evil stepsisters. Thanks to the 1989 release of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” a new generation would adore her voice.

She was a regular on “Make Room for Daddy” with Danny Thomas, a guest star on “The DuPont Show with June Allyson,” and a frequent guest on variety shows like “The Danny Kaye Show,” “The Red Skelton Show,” and “The Carol Burnett Show” before earning an Emmy for her work on the sketch comedy series “Caesar’s Hour” in 1956.

In a 2013 interview with Kliph Nesteroff, Carroll compared the Chicago Cubs’ renowned double-play trio of Tinkers, Evers, and Chance to Howard Morris, Carl Reiner, and Sid Caesar on Caesar’s Hour.

“Watching those three perform together taught me so much about humour. It was reliable,” Carroll remarked. They spent so much time working together that they developed a natural understanding of one other’s timing.

They could not make a mistake. Every Saturday night, we performed two shows—one for the East Coast and one for the West Coast. Those three would sit in Sid’s dressing room with the writers and create a brand-new sketch if they absolutely detested one of the sketches they had produced. Yes, fantastic.
