ONE SOUTH: PORTRAIT OF A PSYCH UNIT SEASON 1

HERE ARE THE LATEST UPDATES OF THE SERIES CALLED ONE SOUTH: PORTRAIT OF A PSYCH UNIT SEASON 1

In its newest documentary, HBO delves into the realm of mental health catastrophes. The first installment of the two-part series “One South: Portrait of a Psych Unit” will air on June 25 and the second on June 26, according to information obtained exclusively by TheWrap. First airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT for both segments.

In the US, a significant mental disorder affects one in ten young individuals. A press release for the documentary states, “‘One South: Portrait of a Psych Unit’ uses rare access to demystify the treatment process and offers a compassionate understanding of mental health issues young adults are facing today and how to help them.”

The two-part series examines Zucker Hillside Hospital’s inpatient psychiatric ward in Queens, New York, which treats young adults as its speciality.

It focuses specifically on the hospital’s Behavioural Health College Partnership (BHCP), a community outreach initiative that collaborates closely with the student counselling centres of 93 connected New York state colleges and universities.

The programmes and specialists involved assist in addressing behavioural health concerns that were affecting graduate and undergraduate students.

This series provides a close-up view of one of the few inpatient treatment facilities in the country dedicated to helping college students behind closed doors. From the time of admission until their release, it tracks these students as they manage severe mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.

The documentary will also follow the college programme supervisors and counsellors, as well as the psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and mental health professionals at Northwell Zucker Hillside Hospital, in addition to the patients.

“The truth is that some of our patients have given up completely. When they arrive, they are certain. In the first teaser, an off-screen medical staff member states, “They want to die.” Finding them reasons to live is the aim here. Another asks, “How am I going to make sense of this pain?” View the entire caravan up top.
