Moonflower Murders is a sequel to The Magpie Murders series which was a tremendous phenomenon around the world. In order to solve another gory murder case, Lesley Manville and Timothy McMullan are now reprising their roles as fictitious detective Atticus Pünd and amateur investigator Susan Ryeland. 

Based on the novel Moonflower Murders by Anthony Horowitz, the sequel crimes series also stars Daniel Mays, Conleth Hill, Mark Gatiss and Claire Rushbrook, and follows Susan as she investigates a death in a British country hotel.

PLOT UPDATES OF MOONFLOWER MURDER’S

After Susan (Lesley Manville) quit publishing and moved to Crete with her boyfriend Andreas (Alexandros Logothetis), Moonflower Murders catches up with her. But she becomes sucked into a cold case murder that was reported in another author’s book and happened at a country hotel in Britain eight years prior. 

The novels of Alan Conway (Conleth Hill). After reading the book, the hotel’s manager, Cecily Treherne, thought the wrong man had been detained and then vanished. Can Susan find Cecily before it’s too late and uncover the mystery concealed in the book?

CAST UPDATES OF MOONFLOWER MURDERS

Once more, Lesley Manville portrays investigative book editor Susan Ryeland. In addition to her roles in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, World on Fire, Dangerous Liaisons, Citadel, Sherwood, and Maleficent, she is a star in The Crown as Princess Margaret.

 She appeared in Holding On, Secrets & Lies, and Save Me in addition to her role as Rosemary Kendall in Emmerdale during the 1970s.

Daniel Mays returns as DS Locke, with Alexandros Logothetis, Claire Rushbrook, Conleth Hill, Matthew Beard, and Sanjeev Kohli reprise their roles from Magpie Murders. Mark Gatiss (Sherlock), Rosalie Craig (Anatomy of a Scandal), Pippa Bennett-Warner (Gangs of London), and Adrian Rawlins (Slow Horses) have joined the cast of Moonflower Murders.
