Lenovo Leads As Global PC Shipments Grew 15 Percent Year-On-Year In 2021, Followed By Hp, Dell, Apple: Canalys

Lenovo Leads As Global PC Shipments:

Lenovo Updates: Despite a chip shortage and supply chain bottlenecks, global PC shipments (desktops, laptops, and workstations) hit 341 million units in 2021, a 15% increase over 2020 and the highest shipment total since 2012. For the second year in a row, shipments exceeded 90 million in the fourth quarter (Q4).

According to Canalys, worldwide shipments of desktops, laptops, and workstations increased 1% year over year in Q4 to 92 million units, up from 91 million a year ago. IN the fourth quarter of 2021, the global PC market grew only slightly. According to Canalys, shipments of desktop, laptop, and workstation computers increased by only 1% year over year in the fourth quarter of 2021.

According to the data, global PC shipments in Q4 2021 were 92 million units, up from 91 million in the same quarter last year. According to Canalys’ data, PC shipments hit 341 million in 2021, representing a 15% increase over the previous year and a 29% increase over 2019. According to the research, 2021 will see the highest number of PCs delivered globally since 2012.

Lenovo Leads Global PC Shipments

Furthermore, the industry achieved robust revenue growth, with Q4 exports valued at US$70 billion, an increase of 11% year over year over Q4 2020. In 2021, revenue surpassed US$250 billion for the whole year, compared to US$220 billion in 2020. Lenovo had the largest market share in global PC shipments in the fourth quarter of 2021, with 25.5 percent, and also had the most market share for the whole year, with 24.1 percent.

HP came in second, with 18.7 million devices shipped in the fourth quarter, enabling the company to reach 74.1 million units in 2021, a 9.5 percent increase over 2020.”Demand for technology has grown in the past two years, the repercussions of which continue to disrupt the supply chain, affecting not just the availability of PCs, but also cellphones, autos, and servers,” said Canalys Principal Analyst Rushabh Doshi.

With 17.2 million, 7.8 million, and 6.6 million units, respectively, Dell, Apple, and Acer rounded out the top three slots on the list. Dell supplied 59.3 million devices in total in 2021, compared to 29 million and 24.4 million units shipped by Apple and Acer, respectively.
