Latest Updates of Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2 2023: The 2021 American supernatural comedy Ghostbusters: Afterlife[a] is directed by Jason Reitman, who also created the screenplay with Gil Kenan.
Along with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver reprising their roles from the earlier movies, it stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd.
It is the fourth movie in the Ghostbusters franchise and the sequel to Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2 Plot:

Since Ghostbusters Day in early June, Sony has been teasing a sequel to its blockbuster movie in 2021. The codename “Firehouse,” which refers to the 1980s headquarters of the original Ghostbusters and was also visible in the end credits of the most recent movie, was released by the official Ghostbusters Twitter account.
Indeed, that scene provides the most insight into what to anticipate in Afterlife 2. Former “buster” Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) purchased the New York fire station, which appears to still have an operational containment unit in the basement.
Disaster strikes, which is a fantastic excuse for a sequel. Although the story hasn’t been verified, its plot is as good as any.
The Cast

Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, and the rest of the original cast, which also included Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray, are not yet known to be returning for the sequel.
However, given his involvement in repairing Ecto-1 and the fire station where it appears to be set, we’d be astonished if Ernie Hudson wasn’t in. It is official that Jason Reitman will once more serve as the director.
Gil Kenan, who worked with him on the screenplay for Afterlife, is also co-writing it with him.
Sydney Mae Diaz plays Swayze, Bokeem Woodbine plays Lucky’s father, Sheriff Sherman Domingo, Marlon Kazadi plays Thickneck, and Stella Aykroyd plays Deputy Medjuck, a nod to Joe Medjuck, who served as an associate producer on Ghostbusters, an executive producer on the sequels, and a co-founder of production company Ghost Corps.
In ancient footage and pictures from Ghostbusters, Harold Ramis makes a postmortem appearance as Egon Spengler (1984).
Using prosthetics and digital makeup, Bob Gunton (billed as “The Ghost Farmer”) and Ivan Reitman also play the living and ghostly versions of Egon, respectively.
Release Date

Whatever its final title, Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2 will be released in theaters on December 20, 2023. Regarding streaming services, it will probably be available for rent two months after that (as with the last movie).
It’s challenging to pinpoint a certain timeframe, though, given the prior turnaround was affected in part by the ongoing epidemic at the time.
