Greencell Mobility To Deploy 50 Electric Buses In Maharashtra, First Bus To Launch On June 1!!!

Greencell Mobility Updates: Green Cell Mobility, an Ever Source Capital backed shared electric mobility platform, announced on Monday that it expects to phase in the deployment of 50 electric buses for intercity travel in four districts across the state. According to the corporation, the first such bus would begin service on the AhmednagarPune route on June 1.These ordinary luxury coaches, which are equipped with Liion batteries and air conditioning, have a fast charging capability (90120 minutes) and can go up to 25 kilometres on a single charge, according to the company.

With state governments electrifying their bus based transportation systems, electric bus adoption has gained traction in India and several cities. The government of India’s Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India (FAME) Phase – II initiative has hastened this, according to the business. Green Cell Mobility plans to build ‘green routes’ in the state with 12metre buses, according to the company. Over time, 10 buses will run between Pune and Aurangabad as an extension of the Pun Ahmednagar route, and 12 buses will run between Pune and Kolhapur. In addition, 18 buses will run between Pune and Nasik, with the remaining 10 coaches serving the Pun Solapur intercity route, according to the statement. “The goal of these ebuses is to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable public transportation throughout the state. We are delighted to join MSRTC in this initiative and look forward to offering passengers with a more comfortable, safer, and environmentally friendly mode of transportation “Green Cell Mobility’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ashok Agarwal, stated.

Over the life of the buses, the company claims that 3,743 tonnes of CO2 will be avoided due to tailpipe emissions. According to the press release, Green Cell is developing a platform to provide eMobilityasaService (eMaaS), which will initially use electric buses to deliver the core value proposition of cheaper nonpolluting on demand shared transportation, charging infrastructure, and enabling products for the e-mobility value chain.
