A brand-new animated comedy-adventure series called “Firebuds” from Disney Branded Television has been announced for Disney Junior. It stars a group of young first responders and their talking vehicle sidekicks.

The show Firebuds will debut on Disney Channel and Disney Junior simultaneously on September 21, 2022. (10:30 a.m. EDT).

On-demand services and Disney+ in the US will both debut the first batch of episodes on the same day. The specifics of the international release have not yet been disclosed.

The music-filled series, created by and executive produced by Emmy Award-winning Craig Gerber (Disney’s “Elena of Avalor” and “Sofia the First“), follows a group of friends who are all the offspring of first responders as they go on adventures to help their community and discover what it means to be a true hero.

“Firebuds” follows a young boy named Bo and his fire engine best friend Flash as they work together with their first responder friends to assist others in their community with problems big and small.

The story is set in a fantastical world where talking vehicles live, work, and play with the humans who drive them.

Each episode consists of two 11-minute stories that highlight the value of cooperation, community service, and volunteering.

In order to help populate the varied communities of Gearbox Grove and Motopolis shown in the series, the creative team collaborated with RespectAbility experts.

Bo is portrayed by Declan Whaley, Flash by Terrence Little Gardenhigh, Violet by Vivian Vencer, Axl by Lily Sanfelippo, Jayden by JeCobi Swain, and Piston by Caleb Paddock in the main voice cast.

Along with them, Yvette Nicole Brown and Lou Diamond Phillips play the roles of Chief Bill Bayani and Chief Faye Fireson, the two co-fire chiefs.

Storybooks from Disney Publishing will be released later this year, while a digital soundtrack for “Disney Junior Music: Firebuds” from Walt Disney Records will appear on September 16.

The creative toy line, which will arrive in summer 2023 and include vehicles, figurines, playsets, and more, is being developed by Spin Master, the series’ North American toy licensee.

Bo and Flash will also appear in the upcoming “Disney Junior Live On Tour: Costume Palooza,” which will begin on September 2 and visit more than 80 locations in North America until the end of 2022.

Along with Gerber, the series’ creative team also includes Francis Giglio as art director, Robb Pratt as supervising director, and Craig Simpson as producer. Matt Hoverman serves as the series’ story editor.

The writing staff is made up of Krystal Banzon, Leanna Dindal, Norma Sepulveda, Jeremy Shipp, Alyssa Stratton, Kris Wimberly and Julius Aguimatang are in charge of directing each episode.

Nominated for an Emmy The series’ lyricist is Emmy Award winner Beau Black, while the composer is Emmy Award winner Frederik Wiedmann. Disney Television Animation is the company behind “Firebuds.”
