Even those who did not follow the celebrity could see this, according to the posts. A number of Facebook users vented their frustrations on Twitter and other social media sites over the barrage of postings from followers of celebrities including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Deepika Padukone, Tom Cruise, Eminem, Ariana Grande, and many others.

On the timelines of their favourite celebs, followers were able to submit random remarks and memes thanks to the bug. Additionally, it grabbed control of users’ feeds, stifling the customary flow of pictures, videos, and other tales posted by friends.

The parent company of Facebook, Meta, informed Newsweek that it was aware that “many are having trouble with their Facebook feed,” but it made no mention of the problems’ root causes.

According to a spokeswoman, site engineers were “trying to restore everything back to normal as quickly as possible” and apologised for any inconvenience.

Alexandru Voica wrote in a post, “A configuration change earlier today left some users experiencing issues with their Facebook Feed. We regret for any inconvenience and swiftly fixed the problem for everyone who was affected.”

Facebook, a well-known social networking site, experienced an outage this morning about 11:30 (IST). A significant bug that allowed common internet users to post memes and strange messages on the official pages of celebrities like Tom Cruise, Rihanna, and Deepika Padukone was also discovered.

A number of nations, including India, the US, and the UK, have reported the outage. Facebook has been in existence for some time. It has had odd problems and cyberattacks over the years.

The most strange one, though, may very well be the most recent. The majority of users who ran into the strange bug were, at the very least, perplexed. We are hoping that Meta will speak up and explain what went wrong.

Many users across the globe have reported seeing sporadic messages about celebrities on their feeds, some from sites they aren’t following. It appears that both the website and the app were impacted.

The issue has been reported by thousands of customers in the US and the UK, according to the outage tracking website Down Detector. Numerous Indians also expressed their displeasure on the website.
