Elvis Actress And Singer Shonka Dukureh Found Dead In Her Apartment

Actress Shonka Dukureh, who portrayed “Elvis,” was found dead on Thursday in the Nashville, Tennessee, apartment she lived with her two young daughters. She was 44 years old.

Director of “Elvis,” Baz Luhrmann, paid tribute to Dukureh on Instagram. The loss of Shonka Dukureh has crushed the entire Elvis movie family, he said.

And I really realized that.” I wanted to really be intentional about making sure I was paying respect to her, respecting her legacy, respecting her spirit, respecting everything about what she brought to music, ad understanding that I can do it because she’s there.
