Ella Henderson was born on January 12, 1996, in Tetney, a village in Lincolnshire’s East Lindsey district. Her father, Sean Henderson, was of Scottish origin and began his career as a car salesman before becoming a wealthy real estate developer in Dubai. Her mother, Michelle Henderson, is of Swedish ancestry. Ella has three siblings: Fraser, Patrick, and her younger sister Holly. She was born with a natural talent for music and began singing at the age of three. Before she was ten years old, Ella trained herself to play the piano.

Ella began arranging parties for her friends and family, particularly around the holidays and Christmas. Bill, her grandfather, was a wonderful person with whom she built an emotional bond.
