Depp VS Heard Trail Updates: After a week off, the case involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard will resume on Monday, May 16. The trial is expected to restart with the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ actor taking the stand for cross-examination by Heard’s lawyers, according to the latest reports.
When the trial returns next week, Depp, 58, will take the stand once more to be questioned by Heard’s legal team, according to the newest article on People. According to the story, Ellen Barkin and Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez would also testify on her behalf.
According to People, actress Ellen Barkin, 68, will be called to the stand as a witness for Heard via video, while Henriquez will testify in person.
Barkin previously testified in Depp’s libel lawsuit after dating him in the late 1990s. Depp was allegedly aggressive to the actress during their relationship, with the woman alleging that Johnny threw a wine bottle at her.
SHE DID SAY, THOUGH THAT DEEP HAD NEVER HURT HER PHYSICALLY
During an alleged “fight” with his companions in a Las Vegas hotel, it was later suggested that the actor had not thrown the bottle at Barkin, but rather in her surrounding neighbourhood.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, according to Reuters, called the charges “untrue.” “I don’t have an anger-management problem,” the actor asserted, adding that Barkin had a grudge against him.
On the set of ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,’ Johnny Depp met Ellen Barkin, who was ten years his senior. The actor stated that they started dating informally during filming.
Last week, Amber Heard cried in court as she testified against her ex-husband, alleging that he sexually attacked her with a liquor bottle and threatened her life shortly after they married. Depp allegedly punched her, screamed at her, and even shoved her to the ground, according to Heard.
DEPP CLAIMED EARLIER IN THE TRIAL THAT HE NEVER HIT HEARD AND THAT SHE WAS THE WHO ABUSED HIM!
The actor has filed a $50 million lawsuit against Heard, alleging that her 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post about surviving domestic violence defamed him. In court, he stated that Heard’s accusations against him cost him “everything.”
Heard has filed a countersuit against Depp for $100 million, claiming that he slandered her by labelling her a liar.
Heard and Depp married in 2015 and divorced in May 2016, after she filed for a domestic violence restraining order against him, accusing him of beating her. The couple had finalized their divorce out of court by August 2016.
According to Depp’s lawsuit, he was the victim of a “elaborate fraud” perpetrated by Heard in order to gain positive attention and improve her career.
