Dave Bautista, who will reprise his role as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, posted an emotional message on Instagram, saying goodbye to his character.

The third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film will feature the entire cast from the previous two films in the franchise, as well as some new additions to the cast. The third installment of James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy saga will be the final installment.

Director James Gunn updated fans about the film’s finish with a behind-the-scenes photo including the complete cast a few days after the release date was announced. Following suit, Dave Bautista, who will play Drax the Destroyer in the upcoming film, posted an emotional message on his social media account, bidding farewell to the character who ‘changed’ his life.

The professional wrestler tweeted a photo of the cast and director of the upcoming film on his Instagram account on Tuesday. The members were all grinned in the snap as they posed for a cheerful image on a couch. Along with the photo, Dave Bautista sent a touching letter about the end of his time as Drax.

The Dune actor penned the script “I’m still looking for the right words. It finished abruptly, and I hurried on to the next picture before I had time to digest everything. The voyage that altered my life has come to an end. #GoodbyeDrax #DreamChaser #DreamMachine #GuardiansoftheGalaxy #vol3 “.

Jame Gunn, The Director, Writes an Emotional Note

On May 7, James Gunn shared a photo of the slate for the final shot of Vol. 3 that the camera crew had decorated for him on Twitter. Along with releasing the photo, he went on to detail how he has spent the previous ten years of his life working on and thinking about the film in a lengthy thread.

According to Gunn, “This is the slate for the final shot of #GotGVol3, delivered to me by the camera crew after over 100 days of shooting and over 3000 shots. It took everything I had not to break down sobbing on the spot when I saw Rocket seated, first with@seangunn, then nothing there.”
