Asus ROG 6 Updates: Just days before its official release, information about the Asus ROG Phone 6 has leaked. According to reports, the next ROG Phone will have an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with a 165Hz OLED display.
The Taiwanese manufacturer claims that the gaming phone will make its debut along with three new accessories. The ROG Phone 6 will replace the ROG Phone 5, which made its debut in 2014.
By releasing the ROG Phone 5s in August of last year, Asus significantly increased the selection of its ROG Phones. On Twitter, tipper Mukul Sharma posted the alleged details of the Asus ROG Phone 6.
The information surfaced a few weeks prior to the July 5th scheduled official debut of the gaming phone.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ASUS ROG PHONE 6 (EXPECTED)
The tipster claims that the 6.78-inch full-HD+ OLED display on the Asus ROG Phone 6 would have a refresh rate of 165Hz. This is an improvement over the ROG Phone 5, which had the same 6.78-inch display but a refresh rate of 144Hz.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, up to 18GB of RAM, and a maximum of 1TB of internal storage are also rumoured to be included in the ROG Phone 6. The ROG Phone 5 has a maximum of 512GB of internal storage but up to 18GB of RAM.
Additionally, it is stated that the new gaming phone will run Android 12, an upgrade from the Android 11 that the ROG Phone 5 had at the time of its launch.
On the ROG Phone 6, Asus is rumoured to have included a 64-megapixel primary camera with better optics and optical image stabilisation (OIS) capabilities.
The enhancements have not yet been made public. It is crucial to note that the ROG Phone 5 included a 64-megapixel primary camera as well.
According to rumours, the ROG Phone 6 has ‘Advanced Gaming Triggers’ that could improve the user experience.
Additionally, a 6,000mAh dual-cell battery with 65W fast charging capabilities is expected to power the phone. Recent information on the charging speed was allegedly provided on China’s 3C website.
Additionally, the battery capacity and charging speed that are stated are both the same as those of the ROG Phone 5.
According to rumours, Asus is also developing the ROG Phone 6 Pro, which is expected to be unveiled alongside the standard model next month.
Early this year, some 2D renders purportedly depicting the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro’s design surfaced to suggest their development prior to the formal release.
