While many fans assumed that the next time we’d see Arthur would be in 2022, that was not the case (especially with the DC Comics teaser video that showed what was up next for the franchise in 2022). But, as of today, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been officially pushed back until 2023.

ABOUT THE MOVIE AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM (2023).

Jason Momoa reprises his role as Atlantis’ king and Justice League member Arthur Curry/ Aquaman in this sequel to 2018’s Aquaman. High-seas mercenary David Kane/ Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and Arthur’s half-brother Orm Marius/ Ocean Master will lead him to new and returning dangers (Patrick Wilson).

Indya Moore (Pose) joins Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom as Karshon, a mutated shark with telepathic abilities, and Jani Zhao (Sentimentos) as original character Stingray. Arthur hasn’t been seen in a large format in a long time.

With the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, we got a closer look at Arthur/origins, Aquaman’s but it was the last time we saw him in a film, as COVID has delayed filming and shooting many of the DCEU films we’ve been waiting to see.

That’s not to say we didn’t see any footage of Momoa in the role of Arthur in 2022. In fact,

Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom

e just had a terrific scene on Peacemaker between Aquaman and Chris Smith, played by John Cena, when the Justice League arrives too late to assist Peacemaker stop the Butterflies, and Peacemaker makes a remark about Aquaman’s, uh…sleeping arrangements with the fish.

IT’S HARDLY UNEXPECTED THAT RELEASE DATES ARE CONTINUOUSLY BEING PUSHED BACK OWING TO COVID DELAYS.

While several films were completed and ready for distribution, others were postponed due to the inability to film, so things will continue to be pushed back for the foreseeable future.

It seemed encouraging that everything would hold up, especially with Warner Bros.’ The Batman’s recent release, but a change to finish the movies and their CGI work makes a lot of sense.

RELEASE DATE UPDATES OF AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM.

The picture was pushed back due to COVID-19-related production delays in the visual effects section, according to Variety. The film’s release date was pushed back from Christmas 2022 to March 17, 2023.

While this isn’t a big deal, it does mean that we won’t be seeing much of Aquaman this year. So, we’ll have to wait until 2023 to return to Arthur Curry’s world (or ocean), but there’s plenty of other DCEU content in the meanwhile. So it’s possible that we’ll still get to see Momoa’s Aquaman this year.
